Collaboration among networks in Asia & the Pacific

In June 2009, UNESCO organized the Expert Meeting on Utilization of ICT Research & Education Networks in Asia & Pacific. The two-day meeting concluded that there are many similarities in needs and interests among the different players in the field of higher education. Among these, there is a strong need for effective use of National Research Education Networks: NRENs. To respond to the need, we created the initiative CONNECT-Asia (COllaboration for Network-enabled Education, Culture, Technology and science)

  • School on Internet Asia (SOI)
  • Trans Eurasian Information Network (TEIN)
  • Indonesian Higher Education and Research Network (INHERENT)
  • Malaysia Research and Education Network (MYREN)
  • Philippines Research Education and Government Information Network (PREGINET)
  • Thai Inter University Network (UniNET)
